Orphan relative Visa (subclass 117)

Overview

The Orphan Relative Visa (Subclass 117), commonly known as the Orphan Relative Visa Australia, enables a single child to reunite with their relative in the island continent. This visa allows the child to live with the relative if their parents have passed away, are unable to care for them, or cannot be located. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to reside in Australia permanently, study, access Medicare, and potentially apply for Australian Citizenship. The sponsor is required to support the child by providing accommodation and financial assistance during the child’s initial two years in Australia.
